I am Maddy McCarthy, a Lighting Designer and Scenic Artist from San Diego, California. I love working in the theater on plays and musicals, but I also aspire to get involved with projects such as dance shows, designing for theme park entertainment, and mural painting. As someone who loves storytelling, theater has always been such a comfort to me. Being able to connect with people through my art is such a fulfilling way of life. I believe human connection is the most important part of living and the stories we tell in the theater are such fruitful ways of helping those connections move forward. I believe that theater and similar entertainment provides a perfect path for people to have more empathy, which is what I believe this world needs more of.
